Corey Miller
Software Engineer
I have over a decade of experience as a software engineer during which I have built desktop and web applications for the United States Air Force, the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, and now Plansmith Corporation. I bring to the table a strong background in algorithms, mathematics and statistical methods.
My job is to optimize our software in every way possible. This means improving our performance by harnessing modern hardware innovations such as cloud computing and GPU processing as well as utilizing algorithmic innovations such as artificial intelligence, parallel processing, and heuristic modeling. It also means that as we continue to produce more powerful modeling and analytic capabilities, we must maintain our simple to use and understand user interface so that regardless of which Plansmith product you use, we can do the heavy lifting for you.

When I came to work at Plansmith in 1985, I had no idea it would turn out to be the career of my lifetime. Earning a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Aurora University, I had several offers of employment, but chose to live and work near my college friends in the Chicagoland area. I learned about the banking world on the job, through my interaction with colleagues and customers and my work on the projects we undertook to make their jobs easier.
In 1990, I moved back to the Olympic Peninsula in Washington state where I grew up to be closer to family and to my surprise, I was asked by Craig Hartman to continue working for Plansmith from my home. Being among the first in a wave of companies employing people as telecommuters, exhibited a vision of things to come and a willingness to embrace the future of technology that continues at Plansmith today.
The constant commitment we have to improving existing products and engineering new ones while providing the best customer support in the industry has kept me engaged and challenged to this day. Exciting things happen here every day and I cannot even imagine what life would be like anywhere else.
