Tom Parsons
Vice President

I have worked in the financial services industry for more than twenty years. I began my career in the areas of commercial and retail lending, portfolio analysis and profitability management. As an industry professional, I directed the risk, liquidity analysis and lending functions for a large wholesale funding and services organization. 

Now, as Vice President Business Development for Plansmith, my roles include driving consultative sales and marketing strategy as well as providing advisory services on interest rate risk to our clients.

I also regularly lead seminars for a number of trade organizations including Financial Managers Society, BAI and AMIfs and am a frequent guest speaker at user group meeting and trade conferences. 
 
 


 

Bill Smith

My mission at Plansmith is to help banks and bankers achieve their highest potential for success. Prior to joining Plansmith almost 15 years ago, I was a community bank president struggling with many of the same issues that bankers face today.

My thirty years of banking experience, in a variety of positions and banking cultures, taught me that "one size does not fit all". I love working with potential clients to find the best solution for them, supported by Plansmith's robust array of alternatives that all provide low cost, ease of use and, most important, understandable solutions to today's complex banking environment. 
 


 

Sue West

My banking career began as an employee of a local community bank. The bank believed strongly in intensive departmental cross training which allowed me to develop expertise throughout the bank, over a relatively short period of time.

As EVP & COO at Plansmith, I have spent the last 30 years teaching planning and Asset/Liability Management, developing our educational coaching programs, and managing our client support services. Now, as part of our Sales and Marketing team, I feel I have come full circle as I’ve gained a new perspective with the opportunity to assist clients at the beginning of their search, helping each to identify their needs today and in the future, and guiding them in making choices for their organization that can truly make a difference. 
 


 

Dave Wicklund
Vice President

After nearly 21 years at the FDIC as a Senior Bank Examiner and Capital Markets Subject Matter Expert, I joined Plansmith to head up the Educational and Advisory Services Division. While at the FDIC, I co-developed and served as a lead course instructor for the FDIC's Asset/Liability Management School, developed nation-wide materials and led train-the-trainer sessions for the FDIC's Evaluating IRR Models training course, was an instructor at the Federal Reserve Board of Chicago's Asset/Liability Management Lab, and served as Examiner-in-Charge of numerous community bank examinations.

Now, I plan to use my extensive regulatory expertise and teaching experience to provide guidance to our clients and help them more easily manage strategic risks. I fully understand the complexity of the banking industry and the many challenges bankers face in complying with Regulatory guidance. By offering a wide variety of educational and advisory services, my goal is to assist bankers in meeting their needs and simplifying what often seems very complex.
